2003s -- The 2003s played against Gourock YAC on Saturday, The Juniors's passing game from the first whistle was on point and they were unlucky not to be one up after a minute on the clock.

Coaches and supporters didn't need to wait long though and, after a good move down the right, Aiden squared the ball for Seb who hammered a low shot into the bottom right corner.  Juniors had a hold of the game but were undone on 25 minutes with a long ball over the top; the Gourock winger had the legs to burst the defence and put a shot in off the post to make the score 1--1.

The Juniors continued to press and move the ball well and trialist Jake fitted in comfortably in his first start. Ten minutes from half-time brought a second goal for Juniors, again a good move down the right followed by a pinpoint pass to Jack F who fired home a screamer into the roof of the net from about 20 yards.

Jiacamo came on after half-time and used his pace to drive down the left channel to collect an excellent pass from Jack F, firing the ball into the righthand corner to put Juniors two clear.  Gourock didn't give up and within five minutes their centre had burst through and fired a stinging shot off. Jack W reacted well to get a hand on it but not enough to prevent the goal.

YAC continued to press but, with good tracking back by the defensive line and Jack W's positional sense, the score stayed at 3-2.

Juniors eventually got back on top with Jack F spraying passes that were cutting their defence. With a pass that seemed a carbon copy of the third goal, the ball landed at the feet of Seb who dispatched a strong shot beating the keeper with ease.

With a two-goal cushion again, Juniors pushed on. After another good team passing move, they won a corner. The ball was swung to the back post and Jiacamo rose inches higher than everybody to plant a bullet header into the roof of the net.

The boys' season has now kicked off and to a man they should be proud of this team performance.  Callum was man of the match. Birthday boy Mogo deserves a special mention for a solid performance at the back.

Final score: Juniors 5 - 2 Gourock YAC
