ON this day in 2010, flames engulfed a boat at Kip Marina, Inverkip.

The blaze was reported around 9.15am and two fire crews from Greenock attended the scene.

A large vessel nearby was moved to safety to prevent the blaze from spreading to it.

It was two-and-a-half hours before the incident was under control.

The boat was towed to an area near the beach to allow easier access and then lifted on to land.
