REPRIEVE For Storage Building Constructed Without Permission

17 March, 2025 | Local

CHANGES proposed to storage units that were built in Port Glasgow without planning permission have been accepted by council officials.

Retrospective approval was recently sought for the three units, and an area of hardstanding for parking, beside KM Bodyworx, Clune Brae.

But Inverclyde planners rejected the application on road safety grounds.

An amended application has then submitted for two units, taking up 105 square metres, compared with the current structure which is 130 square metres.

Part of the smallest unit would be removed with the rest of it then combined with the existing middle unit.

A decision report issued by officials states: “The applicant has submitted updated drawings demonstrating that the required car and cycle parking can be provided within the site, vehicles can physically enter and exit the parking space in forward gear, the required horizontal and vertical visibility splays can be achieved, and bollards can be installed to prevent vehicles parking in front of the storage building.

“The head of service for roads and transportation considers these measures acceptable.”
