Inverclyde Now Logo CHOPPY Clyde Is Added Challenge For Greenock Parkrunners

19 March, 2018 | Local

THERE were difficult conditions again at Greenock parkrun, with low temperatures and one of the toughest winds event participants have encountered.

The blustery weather meant runners were having to dodge spray from waves coming over the sea wall.

Eighty-four people ran, jogged and walked the five-kilometre Esplanade course.

There was one first-timer and one person recorded a new personal best time, Gordon McInnes, who battled the weather reducing his time from last week.

On 31 March, Greenock parkrun is holding its 200th event. Organisers hope to break the current attendance record of 155. It is also intended to have pacers to mark the occasion.
