FIVE members of Port Glasgow Otters swim team took part in the Scottish Senior Championships for swimmers with a learning disability at Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow.

Although it was an exceptionally tough competition with 76 events taking place throughout the day, the Otters returned with three medals — one gold and two silver as well as some PBs (personal best) times.

Lindi Steele, Katy Boyle and Stephen Coyle all had fantastic swims but unfortunately didn’t win medals on this occasion.

Emma Thompson won a gold medal in the 25-metre freestyle (class 7) and a silver medal in the 25-metre backstroke (class 8).

Chris Dillon won a silver medal in the 50-metre breaststroke (class 4).

The swimmers competed as part of the West of Scotland Team which successfully retained the Kintore Team Trophy at the end of the championship.
