NEARLY 140 runners took part in Greenock parkrun, including one celebrating her 150th parkrun.

Romina Scott, who has done all but one of her runs on the five-kilometre Esplanade course, was delighted to reach the milestone. Romina did her first run in May 2014 when Greenock parkrun started and has also volunteered 12 times.

Meanwhile, Joe Percival has now done 50 runs, all of them at Greenock.

Of the 139 runners on Saturday, four first-timers and further 16 were on their first visit to the Greenock course.

Twelve achieved personal best (PB) times including Alan Callan, his first in three years, recording 17:21. Another regular runner, Duncan Anderson stopped the clock at a new best time of 18:27 -– his first PB since the spring.

Sharon Taitt dropped under 27 minutes for the first time for her sixth PB in a row. Joe Bulloch completed his 30th run at Greenock with a new PB of 26:17.

Others improving their times were Adam John Real, Murray Sutherland, Ken Macfarlane, Alex Henderson, Douglas Mathers, Sophie Hicks, Sarah Barry and Lorna Paterson.
