PARKRUNNERS Show New Year Resolve At GreenockTHERE weren’t just New Year celebrations at the 1 January Greenock parkrun as participants marked milestones and faster times over the five-kilometre Esplanade course.
There were 28 first-timers among the 175 people taking part. Twenty-four participants earned new personal best times.
Dylan Crawford, Sarah Parkinson and Alison Smart all achieved the 50-parkrun milestone. Dylan has completed all his parkruns at Greenock and in 2019 went sub-17 for the first time.
Sarah has taken part at 17 different parkruns with 30 of her runs at Greenock. Alison has completed 25 of her 50 runs at Greenock.
Eileen Stevenson celebrated her 100th parkrun and also managed to secure position 100 to commemorate the event. Eileen is a regular at Greenock and has also volunteered 39 times.
Steven Watson celebrating finishing his 150th parkrun. Steven was one of the original team responsible for bringing parkrun to Greenock and has also volunteered an impressive 124 times.
