GREENOCK parkrun attracted 141 runners, joggers and walkers on Saturday, including Eddie Watt who was completed his 100th parkrun.

Eddie finished the five-kilometre route on the Esplanade in 23.05. Meanwhile, Dean Black celebrated his 10th parkrun in the junior category.

Favourable conditions helped 15 runners to gain a personal best (PB) time. Jodie Nelson, who has run seven times at Greenock, has improved every time, knocking almost 10 minutes of her best time which is now 37:29.

There were impressive performances from the boys in the 11 to 14 age category. Jude Dolan went sub-20 for the first time (19:48). Nathan Harkins (22:39) and Angus Scott (22:46) also ran personal bests and Harry Vance ran 19:37, only two seconds off his personal best.

Others achieving PBs were Oliver Reilly (19:24), Tony Montanaro (22:24), Craig Shearer (22:47), Richard Jow (22:48), Sean Taylor (23:39), Graeme Clark (24:28), Gordon Goldie (25:08), Kenny Hamill (25:53), Donna Montanaro (26:29), Martin McNeil (27:13) and Steffi Keir (32:01). Richard Newsome equalled his PB of (21:08).

There was also great running from the youngest category, under-11s , with impressive times by Dean Black(22:15) and first-timer Ashton Fulton (22:45).

There were 11 first-timers, five of whom had never been to a parkrun before.
