EIGHTY-nine people, including nine first-timers, took part in Greenock parkrun, the weekly, timed five-kilometre run on the Esplanade.

Graeme Hanna had set himself a goal of getting 10 personal best (PB) times in a row and he accomplished it this week. In this period he has reduced his time from 34:04 to 29:27. He has had an overall improvement of more than 10 minutes since he started parkrun in January last year.

Seven other runners improved their times — Harry Vance 21:05, Steven Danby 22:00, Heather Lafferty 25:09, Shaun Priest 25:58, Evelyne Guinchard 30:15, Alexander Boonsanong 31:41, and Matthew Crawford 34:37.

The first finisher was Robbie Crawford with a time of 17:12. The first female finisher was Laura Gray, a regular at Drumchapel parkrun, with a time of 21:36.
