GOLF — Free Summer Coaching For Women At GourockGOUROCK Golf Club’s is offering free coaching for women over the summer.
The sessions are part of the club’s Women Into Golf programme which is coming up with innovative ways of getting women and girls interested in the sport.
The programme started in 2018 during which 14 women joined up. A round of coaching sessions was also arranged for May and June this year.
Now the organising team has finalised its plans for the rest of the summer — free coaching for women will take place on Monday and Thursday nights from Monday 8 July until the end of August, from 6 to 7.30pm.
Coaching staff and women members will be on hand to help at the sessions.
No previous experience or equipment is required and full use will be made of all the club’s indoor and outdoor facilities so that the club can accommodate the anticipated numbers.
Programme leader Morag Cowe said: “The success of the programme has exceeded our expectations but there is plenty of room for more ladies and girls.
“We are lucky that we have a number of facilities at the club to help with coaching including a recently introduced short-hole practice area.
“Apart from anything else, it is great fun and new ladies and girls can be assured of a warm welcome from both the club staff and existing members.”
