Under-15s — The girls had the excellent opportunity to play on one of the best pitches in Scotland at Morton’s Cappielow ground, where they faced Morton girls on Saturday morning. The girls started well with three corners in a row before Louise executed a cracking volley, putting the Juniors one up. Juniors had lots of chances but couldn’t get the second before the break, going in 1-0 up at the interval.

Morton attacked straight from kick-off in the second half and equalised. Rebecca H reacted quickly to a shot from Amyleigh which was blocked shot to score the Juniors’s second of the day. The girls thought they were getting all three points however the referee gave a handball in the penalty area in the dying seconds of the game. Morton scored to get a point.

Player of the match: Sophie Cannon. Scorers: Louise Hughes, Rebecca Higgins

The girls and coaches loved the experience of playing at Cappielow and thank to Morton for arranging to have the game played there. | The team thank sponsors Happy Hounds Hotel and Sanmina

Under-13s — The girls were at Drumchapel and started brightly, putting pressure on the home team. Early chances for Ellie and Erin were stopped by the keeper but it was one-way traffic and, after pressure, Zara turned on to her right and dinked the ball into the top corner with a fantastic finish. Erin, Emma and Ellie had more chances. The Juniors went in one up at half-time.

Chances came and went in the second half before Zara placed the ball into the bottom corner for 2-0. Vicky and Lucy at the back were letting very little through, but once called upon Tess in goal made two great stops. G

The girls continued to press and a great run and shot, again from Zara, could have made it three. It finished 2-0 but could easily have been a lot more but for the Drum’s keeper.

Every girl played their part and the referee said he could have picked three or four for player of the match but gave it to both Victoria and Zara. Scorer: Zara Kelly (2)
