2010s — Port Glasgow Boys’ Club 2010s (Orange) thank team sponsor for the season Karen Spark of Donnachie’s, Port Glasgow

2008s — The boys were in action in a derby against St Andrew’s. Play was competitive from kick-off with Port again playing without regular goalie Euan and missing defender Louis. Play stretched from end to end with chances for both teams. There was some great play from both sides and at half-time Sam’s two goals saw the game level at 2-2

In the second half, Port Glasgow made some changes and there were again loads of chances from both teams in what was turning out to be the match to watch at Parklea with a growing crowd.  St. Andrew’s took the lead midway through the half with a fine goal and, with only 10 minutes left, giving the 2008s a tough challenge.

Up stepped Logan to draw the sides level — with only seconds on the clock, he composed himself with a sight of goal and produced a cultured left-foot finish high into the goal which was tough on the St Andrew’s goalkeeper who had kept the attacks at bay very well all day and displayed some excellent shot-stopping. This was another brilliant game to watch in the 2008 league and credit to both sets of players.

2004s (Black) — The Port entertained Westerton in a league match at Parklea. Underfoot conditions were not the best, however it appeared the Port had settled the better when good play sent Smith clear to put the home side one up. However this proved to be a false dawn, as Westerton came back into the match and scored three goals to lead going into the break.

The second half saw the Port on the front foot from the start and it looked as though they would get back in to the game only for them to be hit with a sucker punch when a long ball wasn’t dealt with and the forward netted. The boys heads quickly dropped and Westerton added a further strike before the end to make it a convincing win.

2004s Hillwood 1 v Port Glasgow BC (Orange) 1

Port made the trip to Nethercraigs to take on Hillwood in a Division Two top-of-the-table clash. The Port started brightly and had a couple of early chances to take the lead with Declan Byrne firing wide.

The game was wide open as both sides went for it with the Port looking dangerous in attack and Hillwood also looking sharp. Slightly against the run of play, Hillwood took the lead. The Port then created a few more chances with Ingram, Byrne and Macleay all coming close.

The introduction of MacDonald and Mckay saw the Port get a better grip on the game, taking the play to Hillwood. Callum Brown took a few touches of the ball with his head before slotting it home for 1-1. Brown’s goal fired up both teams and credit to them for producing another cracking game with the action going end-to-end, both teams creating chances but no one getting the winner.
