Inverclyde Now Logo CENTURY Milestone for Gordon At Greenock Parkrun

23 April, 2019 | Local

NEARLY 140 people completed Greenock parkrun in near-perfect conditions, 32 of them improving their times.

Paul Monaghan, above, left, was first male to finish, pushed all the way by Stevie Campbell to his first personal best (PB) at Greenock since October 2015.

Aurelia Tiffoney, above, was first female home, in her second Greenock parkrun, taking more than two minutes off her previous best. Duncan Anderson waited nearly five years to better his time — Greenock parkrun 11 was the last time Duncan saw the runners’ favourite two letters next to his name.

Eric Lindsay continues his steady progression with his sixth PB since starting parkrun in January, showing his dedication by heading home to pick up his barcode to register his time. Fiona Ford has yet to miss a PB in her four parkruns to date, while Irene McIntosh gains her third PB this year.

Gordon Ritchie, above, celebrated a milestone — 100 parkruns, all completed on the Greenock course. Gordon’s first run was in March 2017, so he has managed to run 100 out of 109 events since then.
