WITH only three games remaining in Greenock and District Bowling Association’s fours league, five clubs — half the league — remain in contention to win the league flag with only three points separating the top five clubs.

The triples league appears to a two-horse race between Wellington Park and Kilmacolm (1). At present, Wellington lead by three points with Kilmacolm having played a game less.

In the over-50s league, Wellington Park moved to the top on shots difference over Victoria.

The final of the Reid Cup was hosted by Rankin Park; the two oldest clubs in the district Ardgowan Club and Wellington Park competed in a very competitive game which saw Wellington win by a single shot.

Wellington Park was the venue for the Fletcher Cup final featuring the 2018 winners Rankin Park against Gourock Park. The Gourock side ran out convincing winners, winning five of the six games.

The association sends best wishes to all local clubs which are taking part in next week’s Scottish Championship finals at Northfield, Ayr.

All clubs are reminded that the Ardgowan Hospice Wapenschaw takes place on Thursday (25 July) at Ardgowan. Clubs should report to Ardgowan for 6.30 for a 7pm start.
