Inverclyde Now Logo BOOST For Charities From Whinhill Golf Club Sponsored Walk

The presentation to Alzheimer Scotland

WHINHILL Golf Club has presented the £2,400 raised from its annual sponsored walk to three charities.

Twenty-two walkers did the 12-mile effort from the club in Beith Road, Greenock, down the Old Largs Road to Largs town centre.

The presentation to Starter Packs Inverclyde

The money has been donated to Prostate Cancer UK, Starter Packs Inverclyde and Alzheimer Scotland.

This was the ninth staging of the walk for charity, bringing to just under £20,000 the amount collected.

Those who took part were: Margaret Docherty, Wendy Docherty, John Donald, Alison Dorrian, David Ellis, John Ellis, Derek Church, Yvonne Church, Gary Havlin, Andy Hendry, Craig Keir, John Lawrence, Fran Lowrie, Paul MacDonald, Mark MacDonald, Robert MacDonald, Paul Meechan, Fiona O’Donnell, Michael Ross, Magdalene Twaddle, David Watson and Stephen Wright.

The club thank Sharon and the girls at Whinhill Golf Club for providing a meal and a drink for the walkers afterward and Frank McNeill and Hardies Coaches for providing the bus back.
