APPROVAL Given For Kilmacolm Houses

COUNCILLORS have given permission for houses to be built on a vacant site in Kilmacolm.

Inverclyde Planning Board agreed that a development of four detached houses on Whitelea Road at Broomeknowe Road can go ahead.

Each house will have four bedrooms and a double integral garage.

Eighteen objections were received over the plan raising concerns over flooding, road safety, overdevelopment and the affect on wildlife and trees.

Inverclyde planning officials had recommended approval for the development saying it ties in with policy.

Permission was previously given, in 2000, for four houses at the site but that development didn't go ahead.
