32nd Beavers Visit Apple Store

Twelve Beaver Scouts from the 32nd Colony visited the Apple store at Braehead to learn about coding and computers, enabling them to complete Digital Maker Badge Stage One. A terrific night was had by all.

32nd Group Work With Community Partners

Members of the 32nd Group attended Wellington Allotment for the sixth consecutive year to do some community tidy-up work.

During the evening, Amy from Alzheimer’s Scotland dropped in to see the group and thank them for taking part in Dementia Awareness Week. While she was there, the young people surprised her with a cheque for £100 that they had raised.

Congratulations To Campbell Cairns

Campbell Cairns of the 5th Group has been awarded the Silver Acorn in recognition of distinguished service to Scouting. He received the accolade at the Scottish Scout Awards Day at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh.

Lochgoilhead Adventure For 45th

The 45th Cubs had a great adventure at Lochgoilhead Scout Centre, in spite of the Scottish weather.

The young people threw themselves into the activities with great enthusiasm and enjoyed meeting Cubs and Scouts from other areas.

Fishy Friday With 70th Scouts.

There was a large turnout of nearly 50 Scouts for an evening of fire-lighting, backwoods cooking and games. A slight breeze even kept the midges away.

Each patrol prepared and lit their fires and learned how to gut and cook a whole fish in foil.

After their mackerel, the troop baked some twists on sticks, with marshmallows going down a treat for afters.
