UPDATE From Greenock And District Scout Groups

32nd Troop Visit Marine Biology station Millport

Twenty-four Scouts and Cubs from the 32nd Group spent last weekend on the Isle of Cumbrae, working with staff at the Marine Biology station, making a study of marine life, pollution and costal erosion.

The young people all gained The Environmental Conservation and Naturalist activity badges.

During the weekend the group were lucky to obtain tickets to a lecture by world famous mountaineer Simon Yates, who inspired the film Touching the Void.

Simon spoke with the Scouts and posed for photographs and answered questions on his extraordinary life climbing the highest and most dangerous mountains in the world.

The Scouts also attended the local remembrance parade and service in Millport, carrying group colours.

32nd Beaver Scouts Go Badgetastic!

Twenty Beaver Scouts from the 32nd Colony had terrific fun and worked hard last weekend at Auchengillan Scout Camp at the annual Badgetastic event, gaining several activity badges and also the ‘my adventure challenge’ award.

The Beavers joined hundreds of other Beaver scouts from all over the country for this popular event

Science Fun For 59th Cubs

The 59th Cubs enjoyed their science night learning loads of fun experiments and working on their scientist badge. The highlight of the night was learning to make slime from scratch.
