PREVIEW Screening Of Inverclyde Zombie Musical At Film Festival

A ZOMBIE musical Christmas movie made in Inverclyde is getting its Firth of Clyde premiere at Dunoon Film Festival this week.

Anna and the Apocalypse, starring Ella Hunt, will be shown at Friday (9 November) at 4.30pm in the Studio Cinema. Tickets are £5 (£3 concession).

A question-and-answer time with the movie's director John McPhail will follow the screening.

Katie Duncan of Dunoon Film festival said: "It is really exciting that one of the first venues to screen the finished film is so close to the place that it was shot."

The production crew for Anna And The Apocalypse was based at the former St Stephen's High School in Port Glasgow for a number of weeks at the start of 2017, with much of the movie being filmed in the building.

Various other Inverclyde locations were used including Cathcart Square, Greenock, Kingston housing estate, Whinhill Golf Course, and a number of places in Port Glasgow including the cemetery, an industrial estate and a play park.

The movie follows Anna and her friends who must fight -– and sing -– their way through a zombie invasion to reach the supposed safety of their school, not knowing if their parents and friends will still be alive when they get there.

The film is due to go on release in UK cinemas on 30 November. Tickets for the Dunoon Film Festival screening are available online
