DRAMA Made At Inverkip Is Pulled From BBC Festive Line-Up After Accusations Against Actor

BROADCAST of a major BBC crime drama filmed in Inverclyde has been put on hold after one its stars was accused of rape.

The 140-strong production crew for Ordeal By Innocence, based on an Agatha Christie novel, was based at Ardgowan House, Inverkip over the summer and the three-part programme was due to be shown on BBC One at Christmas.

But the BBC have pulled it from the festive schedule after two women accused cast member Ed Westwick of raping them in separate incidents in the USA several years ago. Westwick has strongly denied the allegations.

The BBC say Ordeal By Innocence, starring Bill Nighy, will not be shown until "these matters are resolved."  |  BBC Coverage

A photo of the cast in the gardens at Ardgowan Estate was published accompanying an article about the programme on the Vanity Fair website this week.
