NEW Plan For House At Greenock West End Corner Site Is Approved

17 March, 2025 | Local

REVISED designs for a new house in Greenock’s West End have been given the go-ahead by Inverclyde planners.

The proposals for a single-storey, two-bedroom detached property in the grounds of a villa at 38 Robertson Street, on the corner with Newton Street, have been granted planning permission.

Officials stated: “The house is designed to predominately hide behind the sandstone boundary wall therefore limiting any
prominence. Only upper level of the walls and roof will be visible, and this will result in the new building blending into the wider streetscape rather than being a prominent feature.”

Inverclyde Council agreed in March 2021 that a house, which featured a wild green roof, could be built at the site. That design was not implemented and permission had expired.
