HOUSE Plan For Vacant Gibshill Site Gets Go-Ahead

24 February, 2025 | Local

DESIGNS for a new house in Gibshill have been approved by planners.

The detached property will be built on open space at 28 Shankland Road, Greenock, beside terraced dwellings.

It will have three bedrooms plus an integrated garage at a lower level.

A design statement submitted by Nicholson McShane Architects explained: “The design of the dwelling is positioned to lessen the apparent height overall.

“With the plot being located at the end of the terraced houses, the dwelling design essentially forms a bookend to the run of dwellings along this stretch of Shankland Road.”

The application has been given the go-ahead by Inverclyde Council officials.

Planning permission was previously granted for a house at the site in 2018.
