THE election to choose a councillor for Gourock will be contested by five candidates.
They are:
John Burleigh –- Reform UK
Ian Hellyer -– Scottish Labour Party
Robert Kirkpatrick –- Scottish National Party (SNP)
Christopher McEleny –- Alba Party
Ted Runciman -– Scottish Conservative and Unionist
The election will take place on Thursday 7 November when polls within the Inverclyde West ward area will be open from 7am and close at 10pm.
It has been called after Labour councillor Martin McCluskey resigned following his election as Inverclyde’s Member of Parliament.
Inverclyde West has three councillors, the others being Lynne Quinn (Independent) and Sandra Reynolds (SNP).
