Inverclyde Now Logo WEEKEND Bus Disruption During A78 Closure At Largs

BUS services on the A78 coast road will be terminating at Wemyss Bay this weekend (7/8 April) because of re-surfacing work north of Largs.

The McGill’s 901 and 906 routes from Inverclyde to Largs are being cut short as the road is completely closed.

The company will be operating a shuttle bus from Braehead to Largs via Beith and Kilbirnie on an extended version of its 904 route.

This will be every 30 minutes on Saturday (the first bus to Largs is at 8.30am and the last one back is at 8.08pm) and every 60 minutes on Sunday (the first bus to Largs is at 9am with the last one back at 6.15pm.

This is the first of three consecutive weekends when the A78 will be closed.

The same bus arrangements will be in place on 14/15 April. Details for 21/22 April have still to be confirmed .
