INVERCLYDE’S Junior football teams are among groups receiving grants from Invercyde Council following decisions by councillors.
Greenock Juniors and Port Glasgow Juniors have each been awarded around £5,000 towards venue hire in the latest round of funding boosts from the authority.
Nearly 50 organisations are benefiting under the Grants To Voluntary Organisations scheme with amounts ranging from £12,000 given to REACH For Autism for its rent costs to £131.96 which St Mary’s Episcopal Church, Port Glasgow asked for to buy two soup kettles.

Kilmacolm and Port Glasgow Agricultural Society — £1,750 towards repairing two curtain-sided trailers that provide storage for show equipment
Kilmacolm Horticultural Society — £500 to create a walkway and sensory garden at Old Kirk Manse woods
Slaemuir Tenants and Residents Association — £1,500 towards trips to Ayr and Blair Drummond
The Church of St Mary The Virgin Port Glasgow — £131.96 for two soup kettles to assist the Clydemen Lunch Club
Woodhall Community Association — £3,000 towards a trip to Blair Drummond Safari Park, pantomime, training and admin costs
