GREENOCK Philosophical Society’s final lecture of the season looks at the life of journalist, adventurer and politician R.B. Cunninghame Graham.

The talk — ‘RB Cunninghame Graham – The Uncrowned King of Scotland’ — takes place on Friday night (24 February) and will be delivered by Lachie Munro.

Cunninghame Graham was a Liberal MP, the first socialist MP, first president and founder of the Scottish Labour Party, a founder of the National Party of Scotland, in 1928 and finally, the first president of the Scottish National Party, in 1934.

The lecture is in the McLean Museum’s Watt Hall, Kelly Street, Greenock, at 7.30. Doors open at 7 o’clock.  

Admission charge for visitors is £1.50.
