SCOTTISH Water is set to begin a sewer upgrade project in Kilmacolm and is holding an information event for residents on Tuesday (14 May).

The drop-in event will take place at Kilmacolm Community Centre, Lochwinnoch Road, between 3.30 and 6.30pm. Residents can find out more about the plans for the work which is being carried out by Scottish Water’s alliance partner amey Black and Veatch (aBV).

They’ll also hear about proposals to minimise disruption in the local area and have the opportunity to provide feedback.

The work to up-size the sewer is due to start on Tuesday 28 May and will help prevent flooding in the area. It is expected to take around six months.

Ruaridh MacGregor of Scottish Water said: “This investment will ensure our sewer network in the area continues to serve customers and protect the local environment for many years to come.

“We are committed to working closely with our alliance partner and with the community to reduce the inconvenience caused by this essential work as much as possible.

“I very much encourage anyone who would like to find out more to come along to our event on Tuesday 14 May and discuss the planned work with our team.”
