Inverclyde Now Logo CLYDE Activity Bikes Holding Social Cycling Open Days

4 April, 2017 | Noticeboard

CLYDE Activity Bikes are holding open days during April to catch up with regular and new social cyclists and to prepare for the cycling season in the coming months.

The leaders from Clyde Activity Bikes will be at their usual meeting place at St Ninian’s Church Car Park, St John’s Road, Gourock, between 10.30am and 3pm on Wednesdays 5, 12 and 19 April 2017.

Anyone, with or without their own bike, who would be keen to cycle in the group-led rides along the cycle path that follows the shore from Gourock Pierhead to Inverkip, or in the other direction to the Beacon Theatre, Greenock, normally for about 90 minutes, is encouraged to go along to find out more.

In addition to group bike runs at 11am and 1pm, on these days, staff will be on hand for a chat, a cup of tea, a quick check of people’s bikes or just to discuss the various types of activities on offer in the coming months.

All events on the day, and throughout the summer, will be provided free of charge and offer a great way for those without a bike, or who do not have easy access to a safe route, or who just need a little confidence and encouragement, to take up this healthy hobby.

Some of the regular cyclists have already attended training courses on a variety of cycling themes organised through Cycling UK and more training can be planned to suit the needs of local people.
