Inverclyde Now Logo CLOTHING Drive Being Held By Housing Association

13 May, 2019 | Noticeboard

RIVER Clyde Homes is holding a clothing drive on 21 May at Craigend Resource Centre in Greenock.

The sale — of adult clothing — is open to all and is on from 10.30am until 3pm at the venue in McLeod Street.

Funds raised will be split between All Saints’ and King’s Oak primary schools in Greenock.

Angela Docherty, community support officer at River Clyde Homes, who is one of the organisers of the event, said: “We are delighted to be having another clothing drive for the community and so far we have received lots of fantastic donations, and many of the items are brand new. We look forward to seeing as many local people as possible on the day.”

Elaine Cannon, service improvement manager at River Clyde Homes said: “This initiative is a great example of our commitment not just to provide housing but to work in our communities building positive relationships with our customers and at the same time linking in with local schools.”

Kayleigh Laird, housing officer at River Clyde Homes said: “I would like to thank everyone for their generous donations and continued support with our community events.”

Any items left at the end of the sale will be donated to charity and, if a success, a further sale may be held later in the year.
