BLOOD Pressure Checks Being Offered In GreenockFREE blood pressure checks are on offer at an event organised by The Rotary Club of Greenock this weekend.
The tests will be available at the Your Voice office in Clyde Square, Greenock on Saturday (14 April) between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
The session is being run in conjunction with Stroke Matters Inverclyde and the Stroke Association.
High blood pressure increases the risk of stroke, which is the biggest single cause of serious disability and third most common cause of death in the UK. High blood pressure has no symptoms, so people are often unaware that they are at high risk.
Doctors and nurses will be on hand throughout the two hours and Stroke Matters Inverclyde representatives will be in attendance to explain what blood pressure is and how to ensure it stays at a safe level.
The test is quick and easy. Free tea and coffee will also be on offer.
