A CYCLE phase is to be introduced at busy Greenock traffic lights.

Inverclyde Council officials say vehicle flow will improve at the Patrick Street junction under the changes to the traffic sequence there which will include cyclists getting their own turn.

A council report states: “Funding has been agreed [from active travel organisation Sustrans] for the installation of a cycle phase on the Patrick Street lights in Greenock.

“A detailed design has been undertaken which will improve the traffic flow through the lights, whilst installing a cycling phase.”
