BOYS’ Brigade Organise Successful Charity Quiz Event

7 April, 2025 | Local

THE senior boys of the 3rd Gourock Boys’ Brigade, attached to Old Gourock and Ashton Parish Church, recently held their annual charity quiz night at Gourock Golf Club.

The boys work on this project throughout their session, organising a venue, printing and selling entry and raffle tickets, seeking raffle prize donations, making up questions covering a variety of challenging but fun topics and then running the night itself.

Each year the boys choose charities that will benefit from any monies raised. This year the boys opted for Inverclyde Music Festival.

The night was a great success with a sell-out audience of more than 100 attending. The officers and boys of the company were extremely happy with the turnout as well as being grateful for all the people who purchased raffle tickets plus the individuals and businesses who donated raffle prizes. Thanks are also due to the committee and staff at Gourock Golf Club for allowing the event to be held at the club.

In total the tremendous sum of £2,114 was raised which will be split equally between Inverclyde Music Festival and Boys’ Brigade funds.
