Under-15s Gourock YAC 1 - East End Utd 3
Gourock played well in this entertaining league cup game and could have won with a bit of luck. Gourock goal-scorer was Fabiano Fallone. Best for YAC were Rodgers, Donaldson, Coates, Pryde and Craig. The team thanks sponsors Inverclyde Council and Emaintain.
Under-16s Gourock YAC 3 - Glenvale 3
In terrible weather both teams did their best to provide a decent game. Gourock started well pushing Glenvale back and this pressure resulted in a goal when Knight's driven cross deflected into the net. Glenvale pulled one back just before half time and came out for the second half full of confidence. It was justified with two well-taken goals and suddenly YAC looked down and out at 3:1. However Gourock showed real character when Jamieson smashed home a corner to offer a lifeline. YAC clawed their way back in the dying minutes when McLarty reacted first in the box to slot home a well-deserved equaliser to finish 3:3. This Saturday the team are at home to Gleniffer Thistle.
