Under 13s (Reds) -- Gourock YAC 6 - 0 Alba Thistle
YAC Reds 99 moved up into 3rd place after a fine win against Alba Thistle. In difficult conditions, YAC defended well as Alba pressed forward using the wind. Ross Colquhoun opened the scoring following a good drive. Ross Kerr made it two just before half time. In the second half, YAC Reds dominated the play, with some excellent football, Ross Kerr completing a tremendous hat-trick, Adam Stinson added a fifth before Jack Rafferty finished off a terrific performance with a well deserved goal. Under 13s
Gourock YAC are away against Mearns BC in a Regional Cup round two game this week. The team thank sponsors National Semiconductor, Gordon Hagen and Inverclyde Council.
Under 15s Gourock YAC 8 - 0 Everton
YAC played well against a hard-working Everton team, creating many goalscoring chances. Goalscorers - Donaldson (3), McGrath (2), Williamson, Rodgers and Simms. The whole team played well but best were Gavin Craig, Harry Donaldson and Andrew McGrath. The team are away on Saturday to Barrhead. Thanks to sponsors Emaintain and Inverclyde Council.
Under-16s Gourock YAC 2 - 7 Hamilton Inverclyde
Gourock received a lesson in commitment and finishing from a Hamilton team who played superb football in atrocious conditions. Playing into the wind in the first half Hamilton scored three times as Gourock chased the game. The second half saw YAC playing for their self-respect as Hamilton, with the wind at their backs, set out to avenge Gourock's 5:1 victory in last season's League Cup final .McCourt pulled one back but Hamilton were unstoppable and continued to boss the game scoring another four goals. McLarty headed a fine consolation in as a last act of defiance as Hamilton ended worthy winners with a 7:2 scoreline to underline their superiority. Man of the match for YAC was Knight who did everything to galvanise his team. Next week the side are away to Glenvale. Under-17s Gourock YAC 2 - 4 Giffnock Swifts
For the second consecutive week, Gourock lost the match after leading and controlling the majority of the play. Again, YAC's discipline let them down finishing the match with 10 men. Goalscorers were Ryan Lewis and Lewis Downie. Man of the match was Ryan Lewis. The team thank sponsors Inverclyde Council. The Under-17s have a league game away this Saturday against St Cadoc’s.
