SCOTTISH Ballet are holding a community information evening as part of a project to bring ballet events to Greenock later this year.

In the autumn, Scottish Ballet will be visiting the town to deliver four days of dance workshops, talks, events and taster performances in a project designed to bring Scottish Ballet activities to community participants of all ages and abilities.

The final programme of events for Greenock will be created following a community information evening on Thursday 15 March at 7.30pm in the Waterfront Leisure Centre, Greenock.

Organisers are urging representatives from local groups and interested members of the public to attend to hear more about the project -- Find Your Feet -- and work with them to generate ideas for activities.

The project can cover a range of activities and events linked to Scottish Ballet’s productions and focus on creative dance, ballet technique, sport and dance, music, costume and design.

Anyone unable to attend but who would like to know more can contact Scottish Ballet on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 0141 331 6297.

Scottish Ballet’s Find Your Feet project has been funded by Creative Scotland’s First in a Lifetime fund. As part of this project Scottish Ballet will visit seven communities across Scotland: Islay, Mull, Arran, Greenock, Perth, Fort William and Dumfries and Galloway to celebrate the Year of Creative Scotland.
