PostHeaderIcon HELICOPTER Carrier Arrives On Clyde


BRITAIN’S on-call helicopter carrier HMS Illustrious called in at the Clyde today (Sunday) en route to play a key role in Royal Navy winter war games.

The ship, which sailed up Loch Long, is heading for two months of training in the North Sea and fjords of Norway.

The helicopter carrier is working with Apache gunships and Sea Kings in the North Sea before moving on to the Norwegian fjords for NATO’s Exercise Cold Response.

HMS Illustrious is due to be taken out of service in 2014.
