RIVER Clyde Homes (RCH) is moving its main offices.

The housing association is relocating to Roxburgh House in Roxburgh Street, Greenock from Monday 5 December.

The new premises will allow most of RCH’s office-based staff to be housed under one roof whereas, at the moment, they are spread across four locations.

While customers can continue to make payments at Inverclyde Council’s cash collection desk at Wallace Place, Greenock, the move will bring about a number of changes in the way that customers can report repairs and make enquiries.

The most important change will be a move to  ‘one-number-does-it-all’.  From Monday 5 December, customers will use just one phone number --  01475 788887 --  to report repairs and make enquiries about rent payments, housing lists, report anti-social behaviour and make complaints.

There will also be changes to the office accommodation in Port Glasgow. RCH is closing its Scarlow Street office and moving to 7½ John Wood Street, and, from Tuesday 6 December, it will be open on Tuesdays, 9am to noon and Thursdays, 1.30 to 4.30pm. Customers can make housing enquiries and payments by card at this office.

Lynne Carr, chief executive of RCH, said: “We have been looking for new office accommodation for some time and I’m pleased that we have managed to secure premises in a location that is still close to the town centre. The move to one location has given us the opportunity to streamline some of our customer services activities and I hope customers will very quickly notice an improvement.”

To allow the move to happen and, in particular, to switch over to new information technology and telephone facilities, all RCH’s offices will be closed from Wednesday 30 November. Customers will be able to report emergency repairs only on the current 0800 013 2196 number. RCH will re-open at the Roxburgh Street office on Monday 5 December.
