READER Talkback -- Shells On The Esplanade
I’m writing to comment on the state of The Esplanade; my husband is a motorised scooter user and also has a manual wheelchair. We go for walks along The Esplanade. In the space of two weeks he had three punctures because of an increasing mass of shells. The Esplanade is obviously not getting cleaned regularly. I sent an email to Inverclyde Council who assured me it gets cleaned weekly and “unfortunately sea-gulls drop shells”… I agree they do, but dispute the fact it’s getting cleaned regularly because of the build-up there is.
