READER Talkback — Concern That ‘Bike Lane’ Congestion Will Delay Ambulances

18 June, 2021 | Local

I have lived on Brougham Street for 45 years.

It can be busy at the best of times, but since the cycle paths have been under construction, it has been patently obvious that it has caused real problems with the flow of traffic.

I worry about ambulances being caught in the traffic on what is a main route to Inverclyde Royal.

I also find it strange that the cycles will pass bus stops by going up ramps and along the pavement directly in front of, or into (!) passengers stepping on or off buses!

I hope planners spend a long time observing the effects of these changes before deciding on permanency.

Yours sincerely, Elizabeth Cathcart
