ARDGOWAN Tennis Club celebrate the start of their new season on Saturday with a fun tournament and dinner dance.

Tthe official ‘cutting of the ribbon’ is at 2.30pm immediately after which the tournament will be held with prizes for the winners. All members and prospective members are encouraged to be there and take part.

Later, in the main clubhouse, there is a dinner dance for adult Ardgowan Club members and their friends from 8pm till late with a hot and cold buffet and music from Alan Mackie. Cost per person is £7.

The tennis courts at Ardgowan have been undergoing major refurbishment with the work on Courts One and Two now complete. Work on Courts Three and Four will be undertaken week commencing 18 April and these two courts will be out of action that week.

The new convener of the tennis club and club coach Jim Lyon said: “We are looking at a very exciting season at Ardgowan with the courts much improved and also reduced subscriptions for adult members, plus junior memberships now extended to 17 years of age and the mini and junior memberships include weekly coaching sessions throughout the summer period. There has never been a better time to be a member at Ardgowan and we look forward to meeting members again and introducing new members to the Club.
