PLENTY On The Menu For Taste Of Inverclyde
MORE than 25 local restaurants, coffee shops, bars and food retailers are taking part in the special Taste of Inverclyde weekend.

It takes place from 10 to 13 September and has been organised by local business group Discover Inverclyde.
The outlets are offering a mix of special dishes using local ingredients, ‘buy-one, get-one-free offers’ and also discounted prices over the weekend.
Discover Inverclyde director Andy McGilp said: “We hope that local people as well as those from further afield will come out over this special weekend and take advantage of all that’s happening.
“In addition to the offers, there’s also the chance of a cookery demonstration from Drew McKenzie at Robert Alexander Butchers in Princes Street in Port Glasgow and youngsters can enjoy the chance of cup cake decoration at the New Dawn Bookshop and Coffeehouse in Jamaica Street in Greenock.
“A number of hotels, restaurants and cafes, including Cail Bruich in Quarrier’s Village just outside Kilmacolm, Shenanigans, which has just opened up in West Blackhall Street, Greenock, the Tontine Hotel in Ardgowan Square, The Chartroom Restaurant at the Kip Marina in Inverkip, the Seaview Café in Wemysss Bay and the Inverkip Hotel are all offering special menus or dishes with a local flavour over the weekend.
“Plus there’s free bacon rolls to sample from Mearns T McCaskie in Wemyss Bay, free teas and coffees at DGee’s Café, West Stewart Street, Greenock, ‘Classic Snacks and Mother's Home Baking’ at Wellpark Mid Kirk and a host of other specially-discounted prices from local butchers, hotels and cafes.’
