DEATH Of Assault Victim Not Being Linked To Attack
A GREENOCK man, who was a victim of an assault, has died in hospital, but police are so far not linking his death with the attack.
Joseph Cummings (37) of Mallard Crescent died early yesterday at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
He was attacked along with his brother in Wren Road, Greenock last month by around seven people armed with swords.
Mr Cummings was treated for a minor injury and allowed home.
It’s understood he returned to the hospital several days later in connection with a medical matter.
Police are not so far connecting his death with the earlier attack.
They have reappealed for anyone who saw the assault to contact them, in confidence, on 01475 492500.
