Inverclyde Council is to relocate Greenock Central Library, initially to the Business Store in Cathcart Street, with a permanent move to Wallace Square later. Recently I was glad the move to the Business Store hadn’t taken place yet when a visitor asked me to take them to see the present wonderful facility. I confess immediately to my shame that I have been a very infrequent visitor to this library. My visitor was overwhelmed by the wonder of this Clyde Square building and its contents. I thought it worthwhile taking a few pictures of the facility as it exists today on the premise that we will never see its like again. Go and see what is about to disappear. The vacated Clyde Square building is to become council offices.
