THE seventh anniversary of Inverclyde Now – 28 May 2011 -- seemed as good a time as any to start an Editor’s Blog – except the website just happened to be crashed that weekend, writes Jeremy Burrows
A week on from that trauma --- thankfully a rare occurence -- things have just about returned to normal and at least it’s given me something to write about.
One nice thing about the site’s prolonged absence was the people who missed it. Plenty of readers got in touch asking what was happening and commiserating.
As my email was also down I didn’t see many of these until much later. One of the messages, from Tom Stevenson of Greenock, was somewhat touchingly titled It’s Been Like A Death In The Family. He attached this amusing image produced below, knowing Inverclyde Now would have featured photos of the visit of the Crown Princess cruise ship to Greenock on 28 May. (Photos were later added when we were able)

Most of the problems caused by the crash have been sorted out but some readers who subscribe to our daily email updates report they have not been receiving them.
