CLYDE Coastguard Incident Round-Up For Sunday 19 February 2012
INCIDENTS handled from the Clyde Coastguard co-ordination centre in Greenock on Sunday 19 January
2.42am -- Clyde Coastguard tasked Rothesay Coastguard Rescue Team to man the landing site for the Air Ambulance helicopter to carry out the medical transfer of a NHS patient from Rothesay on the Island of Bute to a hospital on the mainland.
3.30pm -- Clyde Coastguard tasked Coll Coastguard Rescue Team to man and secure a landing site to facilitate the transfer of a NHS patient from the Island of Coll to Glasgow by the Scottish Air Ambulance Helicopter Helimed 5.
5.01pm -- Clyde Coatsguard received a Mayday call from the fishing vessel Quest six nautical miles north east of the Island of Colonsay with three persons onboard after she suffered gearbox failure and was left drifting without power. Clyde Coastguard carried out distress broadcast action for any vessels in the area to assist, with no response to the broadcast. Islay RNLI All Weather Lifeboat was launched to assist, and the vessel was located, and towed into Crinan.
